Software Privacy
Last updated: October 28, 2026
This Software Privacy Notice explains how Evergreen Audio ("we", "us", or "our") collects and uses crash reports and performance information from our software applications and plug-ins (the "Software"). It supplements our Privacy Policy, which covers our website and store. For the purpose of applicable data protection laws, we are the data controller of the information described in this notice.
Which Software This Applies To
This notice currently applies to:
- Meter Bridge for macOS
- Mini Meter for macOS
- Massive Meter Helper for macOS, which follows the crash reporting setting you choose in Mini Meter
- Meter Bridge for iOS and iPadOS
- Meter Bridge Pro for iOS and iPadOS
Crash Reporting Is Off Unless You Turn It On
The first time you use one of these products, it asks whether you want to allow crash reporting. Nothing is collected or sent unless you check "Allow crash reporting." You can change your choice at any time in the Software under Settings > System > Analytics > Allow Crash Reporting. If you turn it off, the Software stops sending reports immediately.
What We Collect
When crash reporting is allowed, the Software may send us:
- Crash and error reports, including the technical details of a crash, such as which part of our code was running (a "stack trace"), and a short log of the Software's own recent activity before the problem occurred.
- Performance information, for example how long the Software takes to start and whether it stops responding.
- Technical information about the Software and your device, such as the product name and version, the operating system and its version, the device model and processor type, and general resource information such as available memory.
- For plug-ins only, the name and version of the host application (for example, your digital audio workstation) the plug-in was running in. Our plug-in only sends a report when a crash involves our own code.
- [CONFIRM: A random identifier created by the Software, used only to count how many installations are affected by a problem. It is not linked to your name, email address, purchase or license.]
What We Do Not Collect
We do not collect your name, email address, account or license details, the contents of your sessions, projects or audio, or your files. We configure our crash reporting provider not to store your IP address, and the Software removes your computer's user account name from file paths before a report is sent.
How We Use This Information
We use this information only to find, diagnose and fix crashes and other problems, and to improve the stability and performance of the Software. We do not use it for marketing or advertising, we do not combine it with your customer or purchase information, and we do not "sell" or "share" it (as those terms are defined in applicable law).
Our Service Provider
Crash reports and performance information are processed on our behalf by Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.), a crash reporting service located in the United States, acting as our service provider and data processor under a data processing agreement. You can read Sentry's privacy policy at https://sentry.io/privacy/.
Legal Basis (UK and European Economic Area)
If you reside in the UK or the European Economic Area, the legal basis for processing this information is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR and the UK GDPR). You can withdraw your consent at any time in the Software's settings as described above. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing that took place before you withdrew it.
International Transfers
This information is stored and processed in the United States. Where required, the transfer is protected by [CONFIRM: the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (and its UK Extension) and/or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses] included in our data processing agreement with Sentry.
How Long We Keep It
Crash reports and performance information are kept for [CONFIRM: 90] days and then deleted automatically.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, delete, correct or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw your consent. These rights are described in the "Your Rights and Choices" section of our Privacy Policy and apply to the information described in this notice. Because we do not collect information that identifies you, we may not be able to locate reports that relate to you specifically; turning off crash reporting is the most direct way to stop any further collection.
If you have a complaint about how we process this information, please contact us using the details below. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Children
The Software is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information about children.
Changes to This Notice
We may update this notice from time to time, for example when we add crash reporting to other products or change how it works. We will post the revised notice on this page and update the "Last updated" date.
